The SNL Building 985 CUB project is an award-winning build for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories. The scope included the construction of Building 985, a central chilled water plant and extension of site chilled water piping. Phase 1 called for six existing deionized water storage tanks to be removed and disposed from the existing site to facilitate the new building 985. To complete this build, JBH installed 580 lf of duct, 3,178 lf of pipe, 2 centrifugal chillers, and 2 air-cooled cooling towers. JBH completed over 24,000 safe manhours for the self-performed work on the project while also managing over 20 subcontractors. The project was named an Associated General Contractors of America- NM Chapter Best Building 2023 in the $10-$20M project range.
