This bid build project scope required the construction of a 3 story, 44,000 square foot office building in Central Park Square in downtown Los Alamos. It abuts an existing 3 story office building already constructed, and is designed to match that structure. The structure was built utilizing structural steel columns and beams, with an exterior insulation and finish system, accenting spandrel panels and glazing. The east building face was set back only 15′ from 15th street, and only 5′ from the sidewalk, requiring constant vehicle and pedestrian traffic management and control. The only vehicle access to the site, was on the east side. The ground level of the building includes an entrance area with covered parking and a convenient drop off area. There is a sizeable partial basement that provides space for mechanical and electrical systems and equipment.
